ENSURING HIGH STANDARDS & INSTALLATION SAFETY
Compliance and client relationships
ECA registered members must adhere to BS7671:1992 Requirements for Electrical Installations (The Institution of Electrical Engineers [IEE] wiring regulations) and all other standards regulations and codes of practice relevant to the installation. There is also a requirement that their work be regularly assessed and that they employ operatives that are properly qualified for the work being undertaken. These requirements ensure that the highest possible standards of quality and safety are maintained on terms equitable to both client and installer alike.
As a member company, Combined Electricals Limited have agreed to comply with principles to ensure the equitable contract completion terms, set out in the ECA Code of Fair Trading, registered with the Office of Fair Trading.
SAFEGUARDING THE CUSTOMER
ECA Warranty
If work fails to comply with the relevant standards, the ECA Warranty ensures that it shall be rectified to comply with such standards subject to a maximum limit of £100,000. Subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme the Warranty provides the claimant, at no cost, with an assurance that if any work carried out by an ECA member fails to comply with the Relevant Standards, it shall be rectified at no further expense. The ECA Warranty is valid for a period of six years from completion of the contract.
ECA Bond
The ECA Bond, subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme, provides the claimant with an assurance that if a member’s employment is determined for a specified reason, such as the insolvency of the member, the additional cost of completion will be met. This is subject to a maximum limited of £100,000 or 10% of the contract value shown on the member company’s certificate. The benefits of the Bond are available to clients on all contracts completed on ‘approved forms’.
ECA Code of Fair Trading
The ECA Code of Fair Trading is in addition to the customer’s legal and statutory rights. It encourages good communication and gives guidance on matters such as standards of workmanship and materials, design, costs, guarantees, payment terms and settlement disputes.

All of our employees are fully updated with their duties and all hold a current CSCS card as their safety is paramount as is that of the people around them.

ICS (Eastern) Ltd has been working with Combined Electricals Ltd.s Ltd. for about 8years now across the country on various sites. For ICS (Eastern) Ltd to employ a sub-contractor is
quite a big thing as the relationship between us and the client is built over years which
generates return business and a good working relationship.
From the first project we used Combined Electricals Ltd. on we knew that they had been
doing this work a long time because of the questions they were asking and items they were
showing us on site. What was a benefit to us was the way in which the electrical contract was handled on site. The electricians employed by Combined Electricals Ltd. are able to run the project and deal with the various trades in the correct manner which saves the engineers attending site on a regular basis for the smallest of queries.(1/3)
The containment on our projects always looks neat and really does please our end clients
as it’s installed in a practical and future proof way. We don’t find there are many contractors that you can leave on site on manage a project and hit the targets we require for the next phase of works but Combined Electricals Ltd. isan exception.
